TIM’s business model verified, i.e. double-digit sales dynamics during the pandemic
Early estimates suggest that in April 2020 net revenues of TIM SA from the sales of goods and services directly related to the sale of goods amounted to over PLN 67.4 million, i.e. by 11.1% more than in the corresponding period of 2019. At that time online sales brought PLN 47.8 million, which means an increase by 10% as compared to April 2019
After four months of 2020, the estimated turnover of TIM SA exceeded PLN 283.2 million of which the e-commerce channel generated PLN 71.7% million. Both total revenues from sales and turnover from online trade increased by 12.5% year-on-year at that time.
– For the third month in a row we have been recording double-digit sales growth dynamics – higher than those for most months of 2019. April 2020 was the first full month in which TIM’s business activity was accompanied by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus pandemic. The sales results confirm that our business model has proved well in the new reality, as also the system of remote work which has been established for more than 90% of the company’s employees since mid-March. This success would not have been possible without both the TIM’s crew and the team of the 3LP SA logistics centre which is engaged in the implementation of orders placed by our customers – says Krzysztof Folta, the President of the Management Board of TIM SA. – Customers, among whom there is a significantly large group of first time buyers – individuals and companies who, due to the epidemic situation, have often decided to buy electrotechnical products via the Internet at TIM.pl for the first time in their lives. They all appreciate the widest offer on the market available within 24 hours, and what is more in the safest possible manner, i.e. having the products shipped directly to the location indicated by the customer – sums up Krzysztof Folta.
