Krzysztof Folta with the special award in the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2020 competition
During the 18 gala finale of the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year competition, the President of the Management Board of TIM SA, Krzysztof Folta, received a special award for ”the ability to run a business in conditions of constant change, continuously adapting to the market and the environment for over 30 years”.
EY Entrepreneur Of The Year is an international initiative promoting the best entrepreneurs. The competition is organised worldwide by the company EY (formerly Ernst&Young) since 1986 which is partaken by almost 60 countries. The first Polish edition was held in 2003. Since then, the initiative has gathered an impressive community around the idea of promoting the achievements of Polish entrepreneurs. It includes the best Polish companies and other authorities in the business world.
Krzysztof Folta found himself in the grand finale of the 18 edition of the competition along with 14 entrepreneurs representing a total of 12 companies. In the “New Technologies/Innovation” category, his competitors were: Michał Mikulski (EGZOTech) and Jacek Świderski (Wirtualna Polska Holding), and the latter was the winner The Entrepreneur Of The Year 2020 title went to Igor Klaja – the founder of OTCF S.A., the owner of the 4F and Outhorn clothing brands. However, before the competition the winner was announced, five unexpected special awards had been granted. The winners – apart from the President Krzysztof Folta – were: Ewa Chodakowska (BeBio), Jacek Świderski (Wirtualna Polska), Michał Mikulski (EGZOTech) and Leszek Gierszewski (Drutex).
– Thank you for the award. It is a genuine and really pleasant surprise for me. It is the crowning achievement of my over 30-letniej years of business activity, and in particular of the efforts I and the entire TIM’s team have made in the last 10 years – says Krzysztof Folta, the President of the Management Board of TIM SA. – It was in 2011 when we started the e-commerce adventure, which today constitutes the source of 70% of the company’s turnover. I am extremely pleased that the jury made up of such outstanding business practitioners have appreciated this success. Thank you to all colleagues, as also business partners and customers. TIM would not have achieved today’s position without them and so this award wouldn’t have found me – adds Krzysztof Folta.
