Half a year of cooperation between the TIM Group and IKEA
During the first six months of cooperation between the Swedish giant and the 3LP SA logistics center in Siechnice near Wrocław, 250,000 parcels were sent to IKEA customers from all over Poland.
3LP SA, which is 100% owned by TIM SA, specializes in automated outsourcing of logistics services for entities from the e-commerce sector. The company was founded in 2016 as a result of the separation of the internal operating division from the organizational structures of TIM SA.
The logistics center in Siechnice, managed by 3LP, is one of the largest facilities of this type in Poland (60,000 sq. m of warehouse space, 35,000 pallet spaces, 90,000 shelves on a semi-automatic mezzanine, 50,000 locations in a CUBY shuttle system automated warehouse and 8 Lean Lift cabinets, as also capacity to ship 20,000 packages per day).
In the spring of 2019 3LP logistics center separated a Parcel Unit to carry out orders placed by customers of IKEA and whose weight does not exceed 30 kg. Siechnice stores almost 6,000 unique IKEA products which can be ordered via the website www.ikea.com/pl/, on the phone or in one of the IKEA bricks and mortar stores. Parcels shipped from Siechnice are delivered to IKEA customers by a courier company GLS. Currently, almost every day it is 3000-4000 shipments and in the period preceding Christmas it is even expected to double this number.
– The start of providing services for IKEA was preceded by months of audits and preparations. IKEA is an extremely demanding business partner. Fulfillment of its requirements by 3LP confirms that our many years of experience and huge technological advancement of the facility pay off, allowing to provide services at the highest level – says Maciej Posadzy, the President of the Management Board of 3LP SA.
– 3LP is a dark horse of the TIM Capital Group. The services provided by this company perfectly match the dynamically growing market demand for logistics companies specialized in providing services for the e-commerce sector. TIM is the main customer of 3LP SA, however, in the first three quarters of 2019 almost 40% of revenues from logistics services came from entities outside the TIM Group. Our long-term goal is to increase this ratio to 50%. Cooperation with IKEA is another step on the way to achieving this goal, as also the proof of the trust inspired by the professionalism of 3LP – says Krzysztof Folta, the President of the Management Board of TIM SA.
